Leaning into Lent is a series of six brief videos in which ARM Board members reflect on the six ways by which we are charged to observe a Holy Lent. They are:
  • Self-examination
  • Penitence (or repentance)
  • Prayer
  • Fasting
  • Almsgiving (or self-denial)
  • Reading and meditating on the Word of God

Why leaning? The yearly Ash Wednesday call to “observe a Holy Lent” is a call to renewed and refreshed devotion and discipleship. It is a reminder and an invitation to re-examine where we’re really putting our trust in life. Are we trusting in the LORD with all, or any, of our heart? Or are we leaning more to trusting our own understanding and what seems good in our own eyes? Leaning into the six spiritual disciplines of a Holy Lent will help us to acknowledge The LORD in all our ways, will make straight our paths, turn us away from evil, be healing to our bodies and refreshment to our bones (Prov3.5-8).

We pray these videos will help you to lean more closely into your Lent this year.
